Through community-wide collaboration, PTC strives to make high quality visual, performing and digital media arts accessible to the most vulnerable in our communities.

Demitri Corbin – Executive Artistic Director

    Demitri Corbin is the founder and director of Peachtree Theater Company. He is a veteran actor, director, producer, and playwright with 40 years of experience in stage, television, and film. His credits include the first national Broadway tour of Angels in America, Fences at Cleveland Playhouse and The Colored Museum Yale Repertory Theatre. His directing credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream (Libbey Bowl, Ojai) and Heroes of the Fourth Turning (Illinois Wesleyan University) He is the recipient of the Illinois Arts Council Fellowship for Advancement in Playwrighting. As an arts advocate, Corbin has worked with at-risk youth in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. In 2003 Corbin founded PTC and co-created the Cardboard Fairytale Theatre Workshop which he has brought to school districts throughout Ventura County. He has served on the boards of the Ojai Arts Commission, Ojai Film Festival, Ojai Center for the Arts and the community advisory board of Ojai Playwrights Conference, among others. He holds BS in Acting/Directing and an MS in Theater Studies from Illinois State University where he is a faculty member teaching Black Drama and Theatre and Introduction to Acting. Born and raised in Chicago, Corbin returns to Illinois after 25 years in California.

Loris Mullins – Director of Curriculum

    Loris Barrett Mullins has been an educator for 20+ years specializing in Gifted and ESL learners. An expert at these diverse populations, she is adept at writing and adapting curriculum to fit their needs. Her unique programs are designed to be immediately effective to boost the student’s confidence and skill level. She is currently with California State University Channel Islands working with the School of Education as Liberal Studies Coordinator and Supervisor of Student Teachers. Prior roles include Academic Coach for an elementary school, where Mullins was tasked with designing the school’s Response to Intervention program, overseeing school-wide assessments such as DIBELS for reading, Math, and ESL. Working on school transformation in Malaysia, as Education Lead, Mullins developed and directed teams of educators to embed in schools to perform the comprehensive transformation. The public schools were rural, secondary, and primary in Johor, Pahang, Sarawak, and Sabah in Borneo.

    Mullins brought to Malaysia her belief that every child is an able learner and worked to effect transformation based on the ideas of differentiation and holistic student-centered learning working with the administration and teachers of Malaysia. Her work at California State University, includes supervising student teachers in the field and coordinating and advising students for the Liberal Studies degree program. Mullins earned a Bachelor of Arts in Medieval History at the University of California, Santa Barbara with Honors and Distinction in the Major. She holds a Master of Education and Administration from California State University, Northridge, with Honors and Distinction. Mullins is a fully credentialed multiple subject teacher and holds CLAD and eligibility for administration credentials in California.
